about

‘Farewell said I Rising’ is the first release by CYMBLS.
The members Cristiano Carosi and Isabella Cotellessa have recorded and mixed it between february and august 2013,
inspired by the mix of avant experiments and melody of the italian sountracks from the 60s and 70s.

// Exprimental, fragmented, hypnotic, psychedelic pop duo //
// Synthesizer, organ, flute, drums, voice, samples, electric guitar and electric bass //

Tracklist: Ambershade, Whimsical, Word blind, Urtica, Forecast

One sided LP vinyl limited to 200 copies, black vinyl, mastered and cut at Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin.

"(...) like Hype Williams transplanted onto a hippie commune with
instruments instead of machines to work with (...)" NORMAN RECORDS

"(...) not unlike Broadcast on the outer limits of the Ghost Box catalog.
Dressed in the tapestries of found-sound, samples and reverb, the songs
here consistently poke through, conjuring up a depth of feeling that
deserves repeated listens." ROUGH TRADE

"CYMBLS' Farewell Said I Rising, their five-track debut release for Upside Down Recordings, just happens to be one of the most intriguing records we've heard this year. Mixing experimental pop nuances with avant garde overtures of the film score variety, it's a welcome diversion from any pre-conceived norm reminiscent of Hype Williams, Ennio Morricone and Broadcast at various, irregular junctures."
